Lara Darwazah
I am an Education specialist who worked as a music teacher in London, Dubai and Jordan in the last twenty years. In 2011 I published a food blog to cater for my deep interest in food and culture. My Blog was featured in on the BBC food magazine. I have written for various articles for 7iber, Al Ghad and The Jordan Times within the country and a Dubai based Food magazine FoodeMag.
Before turning to Writing, I received a degree in Education and have a qualified teacher status from Reading University in the UK and held various positions as head of music at London’s International Community School and as Music Director for various children’s productions in the UK and Dubai’s Community Theatre and Arts Centre.
In 2012 I obtained a qualification in Neuro Linguistic Programming to further enhance my understanding of how children and adults learn. In 2019 I completed and received a Master of Arts in Children's Literature from the University of Roehampton, specialising in the literature of Displacement.
I would say my work so far, over the years involved, music teaching, writing for Refugees with the WFP. I am now involved in presenting/broadcasting for Radio and various Media outlets music and culture appreciation programs.
I would say my skills and interests are quite varied and rewarding at the same time.
